Meet The Team
Tom Brownback
Tom has been a psychologist for more than 20 years. Tom is a former Marine and did his graduate work in psychology at Temple University. He has done post-graduate work in theology with an emphasis in the integration of psychology and theology. He is certified as a Senior Fellow in biofeedback and EEG biofeedback by the Biofeedback Certification Institute of America. He is identified as a diplomate in Quantitative Electroencephalogram (QEEG).
Tom is a member of the Pennsylvania Psychological Association, the Association for Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback, the American Academy of Healthcare Providers in the Addictive Disorders, the International Society for the Study of Dissociation (ISNR) and the American Association of Christian Counselors.
Tom has presented numerous workshops, lectures and speeches to national and international professional conferences and community organizations on a wide variety of topics and has appeared on regional and national television. He is known for his seminal work on the use of neurotherapy in the treatment of dissociative disorders and is co-author of “Neurotherapy in the Treatment of Dissociation,” Introduction to Quantitative EEG and Neurofeedback, Evans and Abarbanel, editors, Academic Press, 1999. Tom is listed in the 1993-94 Edition of Who’s Who in the World.
Dr. Jennifer Smith
Dr. Jennifer Smith is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years experience working with children, families, and adults to promote growth and healing holistically tailored to individual client needs. Using a strengths-based approach, Dr. Smith utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure Response Prevention (ERP), Motivational Interviewing, Emotion-Focused Therapy, and Mindfulness to promote wellness.
She earned her Ph.D. from New York University and her masters from Syracuse University. Specializing in the treatment of OCD and anxiety, Dr. Smith is a member of the International Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Foundation (IOCDF) and has completed the Behavioral Therapy Training Institute and subsequent supervision. As a Gottman Level 2 trained therapist, she is skilled at helping couples repair difficulties in their relationships. Dr. Smith does educational training workshops and she has enjoyed teaching future clinicians at the university level .
